Pennsylvania mountains offer something for every outdoor enthusiast during all four seasons of the year.

Pennsylvania weather over the summer with sun and temperatures in the mid 70's to upper 80's (plus the 90 + degree days we sometimes get) make our state parks a must see when considering what Pennsylvania attractions to see.

We have been to most of the parks. There's something so peaceful and relaxing just being around the water.

These parks really display the beauty of our state.

If you're coming to PA in October, the colorful mountains and their changing leaves glistening off the water is a sight you won't soon forget.


Enjoy the Outdoors

Pennsylvania's Great Lakes Region (Northwestern PA) includes Erie and surrounding areas. You'll find pristine beaches and gorgeous sunsets in the five PA state parks located here. If you're looking for romantic evening ideas, don't miss a sunset.

Northeast Pennsylvania Mountains region includes the Pocono mountains and Endless Mountains. You'll see waterfalls at the spectacular Ricketts Glen State Park. The 17 Pennsylvania state parks offer scenic overlooks (a stunning view in the fall), trails to hike on, whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River and streams to fish in.

Pittsburgh area state parks are located in Southwestern PA. The 17 parks are located throughout the Laurel Highlands area. Ohiopyle State Park attracts whitewater rafting enthusiasts. Flower lovers will find a wildflower reserve at Raccoon Creek State Park (one of our good date ideas!).

Philadelphia's 15 state parks

call outdoor enthusiasts with its abundant natural resources, migratory birds and Delaware Canal.

The Pennsylvania Wilds region of 29 state parks is located in the Allegheny National Forest area. The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania is located here. Nature lovers should be on the lookout for deer and bald eagles here.

The Allegheny Mountains region includes the Susquehanna River and good streams for trout fishing. The 21 state parks offer different activities for outdoor lovers throughout the year.

PA Dutch Country state parks are located in Pennsylvania Amish Country. Hershey Park is in this region as is President Buchanan's home. A must see in this area is the bald eagle sanctuary.
