Pennsylvania sports teams are as diverse and varied throughout the state as the fans are.
Outdoor sports include biking and automobile race watching in the Poconos mountains area of the state.
Indoor sports that fans can enjoy include a professional basketball team and pro soccer teams.
Sports fans can pick their favorite sport, their favorite teams and find plenty of opportunities for watching their teams throughout the year.
They are Pennsylvania's only pro basketball team.
They play in the Eastern Conference of the Atlantic Division and became an NBA team in 1949.
Their home games are played at the Wells Fargo Center.
One of the most famous players on the team was Wilt Chamberlain who began playing for them in the 1960's.
Another legend is Charles Barkley who played 8 seasons from the mid 1980s to the early 1990s
Located in Long Pond PA, they hold the Nascar Spring Cup Series at the raceway in June and August.
They also have a Pocono 200 ARCA race in the beginning of June and a Pocono 125 ARCA race the end of July.
Tours of the raceway are available April through October.
They are in the Major Indoor Soccer League and were created in 2010 and play in PPL Park. The team colors are navy blue and gold.
They were created in 1999 and play in the USL second division - the third level in the American Soccer Pyramid.
Their home games are in Bridgeville PA at the athletic field stadium of Chartiers Valley High School.
